Tim Buckley is the best! This album is incredible.
We won’t forget Lee Underwood guitar which is wonderful.
Dear Bolochas, I have a lot of Tim’s album if you’re interested. We may meet on soulseek. My name is Colonel Langlois.
See you and thanks for your wonderful blog.
Classics was a letdown, there’s just so much creative sound on this release. It’s not a real departure, but they’ve managed to mature in their sound… greatly.

Dang i just recently found the Wordpress site. Now it got shut down. What happened to all those links from that one. I never had the chance to check them all out, have they carried over. Very glad to see you are back
The reason you persist so doggedly is because you know you’re the best. You are all addicted to the heady blend of kudos and adoration. You just seem to be in this for one thing: everyone. Ha! I have the measure of you. Keep on keeping on come what may.
The only way the RSS feed will work is if you use the little RSS button on the left side (in the image that travels as you scroll). The other RSS links don’t work, and if I just subscribe to the site’s URL instead of that specific feed link in the left side image, there is a feed, but it’s not be updated in about a week. Using the link on the left image gives you the most current updates.

hi talya!
our pretensions are not ancillary, they are at the very center of what we do. they are the lofty goals that heavily outweigh british folk rock or the music of native peoples as far as influence (or intention) goes. there’s really not much about music, or music criticism, that really inspires me much–it’s the listening, and the making, you know, the active things that live in a context out of control, that i think about and respond to the best. things like washing dishes, or protesting the war. but, well written, from a perspective that is uniquely yours. thank you.

Thanks for the helpful response celtic. But if you were able to find this on google, why not save others the time and post a link? As for myself, I tried to find one using google as soon as I realized the link was wrong and was unable to. Perhaps you are adept at advanced google techniques that I am unaware of, but again, why not pass the information on to those of us without your highly developed skill-set, those of us with smaller brain masses, and those of us who have only recently learned to walk upright?
Sorry for the sarcasm, but when confronted with it it’s hard for me not to respond in kind. No hard feelings. But, yeah, I really couldn’t find any other sources for this. I agree that its not the end of the world though. In a month or so it will be out in the US, for those of us in the US, yes?
I really liked this single. It sort of brought me back to the days when I was young and just discovering Apples in Stereo and Papas Fritas. Not really comparing the bands, other than a comparable mix of jaunty melody with wistful overtones, just a similar feeling evoked.

Susie, I can’t agree more.
I love the entire album, and have to thank Itunes for the freebie track (”Go On, Say It”) or I may not have even heard of this duo. And if you like it, and want to support the band, the album is only $5.99 on Itunes.
I hope they manage to keep the sound simple in the future, as the lack of over-layering of instruments really adds to the clarity of the melody and the vocals.
Nothing is out there yet of course, but if anyone finds the guitar tabs or chords, let me know. Thanks!

Leave Israel a Message on his myspace. $0.35 says he’ll tell you. If he can’t ask him permission to “let Drew teach you the songs” (Drew’s a guy that you don’t know but that has figured the songs out by watching Israel play them.) If he’s cool with it, then get a hold of me via myspace. I’ll get you in touch with Drew and you’ll have the tabs. F that’s a lot of work.

Sam Roberts previous album was inspired and honest to his musical vision. This album is much more calculated as he attempts to go back to being a single song artist. It’s not that this album is bad it just doesn’t have the integrity and dynamics of Chemical City. So overall I have to disagree with the author.

“… Ultimately, it’s their decision not to, and we must respect that…”
I admit I have yet to listen to this CD, Jotien, but your analysis is brilliant.
Why? Because you remembered to review the art the artists created, not the art you preferred there to be. This is a failing that happens to many (most) reviewers of all types of art (music, movies, books, art, etc) and across all levels of provenance.
I really appreciate bolachas gratis; as much for your and the other reviewers’ insights as the generous sharing of music.

hi
thanks for making these available. haven’t listened to these album since, well, when they were released – still have somewhat worn vinyl somewhere. so looking forward to seeing if wide-eyed innocent optimistic U2 stands up to 21st century cynicism. which partially informs the ‘making money from old rope’ thinking behind the re-mastering and re-release – doomed to fail then?

Mr. Quinn neglects to mention that Lowell’s daughter, Inara, teams with Billy Payne on a very moving and beautifully performed duet on “Trouble”. I don’t pretend to speak for Ms. George, and doubt that she speaks for her father … but her appearance here certainly speaks miles about her inspiration(s) and I think lays to rest any speculation someone outside the family might have regarding what Lowell would make of this effort. Keep in mind that Lowell George collaborated with many musicians who sang versions of his songs, and that collaboration brings new energy and new insight into the depth of said songs. Listen to this album before you dismiss it … some build entire reputations tearing the work of others down. As to being only for “completists” … if I were a fan of Dave Matthews or Chris Robinson, I would certainly want to listen to how they interpret classic Little Feat tunes. This goes for the other stellar artists appearing on the album. I say, try it out before dismissing it. You might discover that the “old” Little Feat is still carrying the flame.

Pretty awful mainstream band. But thanks for uploading anyway,-)
As everyone has already said – you are much loved for your enthusiasm and diligence and you have inspired many of us to seek out music that we would not have otherwise heard.
All the best to you!
Pablo
You very much have my admiration for continually flying the flag in the face of all adversity.

Do you (or anybody) have her last EP ‘gentleness of nothing’ by any chance?
Great to have you back. May the bastards leave you alone.

You are a top man – a latter day Robin Hood and no mistake.
This is the last straw…
I’m buying a rapidshare premium account.
rapidshare has a new face now, it’s kinda confusing at first but i love it. i bought my first account in april and i’ve extended it until june thanks to premium points.
so, a big thank you to everyone who downloads my files :)
April… So you’ve never seen the Rapidshare cats I take it?
Oh god I hate the Rapidshare cats.

awesome, jayjay. downloading as we speak :) thanks again.
yeah, I remember everyone going nuts about those cats. That’s another reason to have a premium account, hah.

Tim Buckley is the best! This album is incredible.
We won’t forget Lee Underwood guitar which is wonderful.
Dear Bolochas, I have a lot of Tim’s album if you’re interested. We may meet on soulseek. My name is Colonel Langlois.
See you and thanks for your wonderful blog.

many thanks jay jay , yuo rule
I’m really digging the new Ratatat as well… although it’s not much of a departure.
many many thanks jayjay. indeed you rule!! :)
Classics was a letdown, there’s just so much creative sound on this release. It’s not a real departure, but they’ve managed to mature in their sound… greatly.
my favorite tim buckley album. essential for buckley fans and a great way to explore tim buckley for newbees…
great post.
This record makes me weep. Absolutely the greatest live album ever!
Dang i just recently found the Wordpress site. Now it got shut down. What happened to all those links from that one. I never had the chance to check them all out, have they carried over. Very glad to see you are back
i don’t see the dwld link :-(
Click on the tracklist or any paragraph of the review.
thank you!
The reason you persist so doggedly is because you know you’re the best. You are all addicted to the heady blend of kudos and adoration. You just seem to be in this for one thing: everyone. Ha! I have the measure of you. Keep on keeping on come what may.
thanks a lot! and – welcome back!

i see, i see. thanks!
Agreed. Great bootleg. Thanks.
Sigur Rós – Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust (high quality leak!). Anyone?
thx very much, you’re great! more missing files!;)
just want to say thanks for being so thorough, bolachas. keep up the excellent work!
@frits – check deeek media for the sigur ros. as they say, however: “only 128kbps, but this should hold you off until I can get v0 up!”
http://deekmedia.wordpress.com/
oh how about comments? are they working? grrrrrrrr
hey celtic is this working
after three days of blackout, the possibility of post a comment is now OK! :-) Thanks & compliments for your great blog, and your great work.
thnx celtic for the great job, v=everything seems to work again
hey chaps, good to have you operational again..
also is this blog in widescreen format? it doesnt seem to fit into my screen
Would love to see as much japanese stuff as you can find. :)
Best album of the year and beyond. Beautiful.
thx thx thx!;)
it works fine in mine, 1280×800
thanks for all the great posts lately!
any chance for a reup to a mirror site of this one?
thanks again, keep on with the music
Works fine on my screen too.
Congratulations for the nice blog. Now, everything is working fine.

SACA UNA VERSION EN ESPAÑOL DE BOLACHAS GRATIS AMIGOS DEL LBOG
hi talya!
our pretensions are not ancillary, they are at the very center of what we do. they are the lofty goals that heavily outweigh british folk rock or the music of native peoples as far as influence (or intention) goes. there’s really not much about music, or music criticism, that really inspires me much–it’s the listening, and the making, you know, the active things that live in a context out of control, that i think about and respond to the best. things like washing dishes, or protesting the war. but, well written, from a perspective that is uniquely yours. thank you.
On part 2, I’m getting this message: The structure of the archive is damaged (Error #17540). Anyone else?

“but how does a band that seemingly comes from the best days of yesteryear stand up when compared to the highly technical and inventive scene in modern music?”
“The simplicity is a breath of fresh air in the face of complex time signatures and ever changing song structures.”

LOL.
http://www.google.com
Not bad. I really liked it.

Wow, one day late and this is dead already. Anyone have it re-upped yet?
Susie, I can’t agree more.
I love the entire album, and have to thank Itunes for the freebie track (”Go On, Say It”) or I may not have even heard of this duo. And if you like it, and want to support the band, the album is only $5.99 on Itunes.
I hope they manage to keep the sound simple in the future, as the lack of over-layering of instruments really adds to the clarity of the melody and the vocals.
Nothing is out there yet of course, but if anyone finds the guitar tabs or chords, let me know. Thanks!

Chris,
Leave Israel a Message on his myspace.

It’s a good album with two weak songs, based for my “gout” a little to much in reggae phrases. I would give him 3 and a half star in a ranking up to maximum 5 stars (like AMG does).
Greetz from Cologne – Germany for all Lovers of this fantastic Blog!!!

Thanks, Mick.

It’s awesome, thanks guys. Go on like this, yu’re the best.
Could you upload or send me the link for the Twilight Hotel’s first album “Bethune”? Thanks
Dear Sir,
This review is an exact copy of a review I published on Amazon.com for the Airstream album. While I certainly don’t mind you reproducing my work, I expect that you will cite my review as being written by me. Please either do so at your earliest convenience or remove the review from your site as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Chad Davies
Tenniscoats and Secai? Please? Please? Please?

Best wishes,
link seems to be dead
sorry David but have a disappointed answer for U: I DID NOT WRIGHT THAT REVIEW :-)
but I take your words as a compliment finding the right review for this great album.
Jotien
Can someone re-up this?

The fourth track doesn’t work when unpacking the rar file. There are only three first tracks left in the end of unpacking process.
I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I dont know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog.

It’s a pity that people only leave a comment when the rar files doesn’t work!
They don’t even think to say “thanks for the files that work”.
So thank you for your great blog. I really like James Yorkstone files in the last days.
hi jotien,

album=excellent!
wut’s the password?
Thanks!
hi
thanks for making these available. haven’t listened to these album since, well, when they were released – still have somewhat worn vinyl somewhere. so looking forward to seeing if wide-eyed innocent optimistic U2 stands up to 21st century cynicism. which partially informs the ‘making money from old rope’ thinking behind the re-mastering and re-release – doomed to fail then?
This album is absolutely stunning.
do you like stealing from struggling artists like me, how many topless models ill come on my yacht when I can’t afford the lines of columbian marching powder and the cases of dom perignon, thieving bastards !
hahahah
Great info – keep up the great work.
